Sometimes I'll get an AOL window with no x, -, or + circles.
Hi. i wonder if this has happened to anyone else. Sometimes when I'm surfing, I'll get a blank, AOL window with no x,-, or + circles. Consequently, I can't get rid of it. What should I do under these circumstances?

and if that doesn't work (perhaps if the ad is freezing your browser), just quit or force quit your browser from the dock or menu bar.

do you use aol for your isp?

Yeah, I'm wondering why you're getting AOL stuff (even if it's blank)??
If you don't use AOL as your ISP, have you ever downloaded anything from AOL? My eMac had AOL software on it when I got it and I dumped it all. I once download a trial pkg. that I got in the mail (years ago) from AOL and what a disaster!! Some of the stuff got locked into my computer but I finally figured out how to get rid of it all.
So, I"ve never gotten what you are getting. If you don't use AOL as your ISP, do a spotlight or finder for "AOL" and see what is on your computer.

me neither AOL and earthlink -UGH!!! Bad software programs and they have a habit of embedding deep into the computer.
The AOL software I downloaded got rid of my at the time current ISP settings! It was a mess and didn't make me a happy camper

Are you telling me that the only way to get rid of this "rogue" window is to sign off AOL? Isn't there an easier and more convenient way?

Thanks, that seems to close out of every window up yet still remain signed on to AOL. That helps very much, good info.
