hi. I have my iMac remote control away in a box right now. I'm wondering is it supposed to work, play, pause, stop, rewind, forward, with the videos you play on youtube?

You could rip the youtube videos off the site and play them in VLC? This would allow stop and play with the apple remote.... (Use safari's activity monitier to locate the link to the .flv file itself....)

Not sure if this is still of interest, but I had the same problem so I wrote an application that lets you do exactly that. It's called Web Remote. You can find it here: Web Remote - YouTube Remote Control for Mac OS X
