    Specs:
    2.4ghz 200gb macbook pro, 13" macbook
    deleting the drop down box for searching
    hey another newbie quesiton, when i go to google or whaever search bar and wana type something in, the little drop box pops up with previous searches, anyway on how to delete certain searches?

    move the pointer over then and press delete.
    (the small delete button)

    nope dosnt work, deletes it from the search box but not from the drop box.

    not on mac right now, but there should be under history in the menu bar an option to remove/clear history.

    i don't believe that you can clear specific items (at least without incredible knowledge of the cache and ability to view hidden files).

    erics sorta right. open the safari menu and click reset safari

    you can do it in Safari Preferences. In the Autofill tab select Edit under Other Forms. Then you can remove the history from certain sites or all. Or simply uncheck it if you don't want it to save any searches
