Ok...So I got the MBP today and I'm doing pretty good with learning everything thing except a couple of things...I am having a few little learning difficulties here and there but I am figuring most things out.

The one thing I'm stuck on though is a little problem with installing programs.
I have Firefox set to download stuff to the desktop, then I install it and run and all that good junk. Some programs leave an icon on the desktop though and I'm assume its a disk image or whatever. But when I delete this I end up having to go and download the program again. I don't want those icons on the desktop though. Is a simple fix to this having Firefox download stuff to somewhere besides the desktop?

If not can someone please help?

Thanks guys...I'm sure I will have plenty more questions and I am going to be very grateful for you guys.

Ah, thank you so much.
One more thing, is the OSX firewall turned on by default or where do I go to enable it?

Specifically, System Preferences, Sharing, and then select the Firewall button. On my PowerMac G5 (new about 3 months ago), it was turned off by default.

Alright, so another question for you guys.

What is the best way at going to rename something?

In iTunes specifically. I right clicked but a rename option is there. I have figured out some method of holding one finger on the touch pad and then clicking the mouse button but this doesn't seem to work everytime. Help please?!

You can easily rename a file by highlighting it and clicking once. If you do this fast, it will open the corresponding file(Double Click). Make sure to take a small pause(1 Sec). Sometimes it takes time to change it to rename mode but if you repeat the above process, you should be able to do it.

Be sure to click the NAME of the file, not the icon itself. And give it a millisecond to turn into edit mode.
