changing default application

hey

is there a way change the default application a file launches?
for example, I want all my divx movies to automatically open with vcl when I click it.. I only know how to make them open with vlc individally.

Right Click the file, GET INFO, under the OPEN WITH area select the App you want and then click CHANGE ALL. There will be a warning Window that you have to go thru as well asking if you want to do that or not, click YES and you are good to go.

Another, quicker, way of doing it:

Select all of the files you wish to change.
Right click on them.
Hold down the Option key.
"Open with" will change to "Always Open with"
Click "Always Open with".
Choose the application.

I try to Command+Shift+/ when I can.
They're - Their - There | Two - Too - To | You're - Your | MAC - Mac
I was on the M-F honor roll for October, 2006.
