New mac: Font Issue

Hello everyone. I purchased a new mac (switching from windows). My issue is that I uploaded fonts to font book, that I had on a disk, and it changed the fonts in firefox, thunderbird and Wordmac to unreadable symbols. How do I get back to mac's "default" font?
