The only reason I had not gotten a Mac for almost a decade was because I just didn't have the money to get one. I mean, sure I did worry about how compatible it would be, and I worried about who would help me with any problems since all my friends were using PCs. This year after more than 10 years of PCs, I finally got the chance to get one. I debated it for 5 seconds and then got the intel imac. I use Photoshop, Dreamweaver, imovie, idvd, Office, they all work perfectly.

There are a lot of people worrying about Rossetta, but the programs run faster and better than on my PC, so that was never a problem for me. Now one of my friends is getting one too!

well i have been using windows for all of my life. i always had problems with it, always hated it. my switch from it was not to mac, however. one day i decided to just wipe the drive and install VectorLinux(which is an EXCELLENT distro btw). i used that for about 6 months when i decided i needed a new computer. i bought an ibook and i love it. people make fun of me at lan parties though... i play halo and warcraft 3 with it, and if we do any other games i switch off with a friends pc. I personally do not own a windows pc, its either OS x on my laptop or Linux on my desktop. im in the process of setting up a linux/os x dual boot on my ibook if anybody wants to help me .

I switched because I knew OSX was superior, and now one can use Windows on a Mac and still play games. I also like the way they look.

I bought my first Mac for college because I was tired of dealing with Windows computers that always seemed to crash on me at crucial moments. I still have that computer, a Power Mac G4, and I love it because it does what I want, when I want it, and it doesn't crash when I'm trying to write a gigantic paper the night before it's due.

Then, in January of '05, I decided to start saving up my money to buy an iBook so that I would have a computer to use when I went abroad the following school year. It took me seven months to save up the money, but going to the Apple Store and buying that beautiful machine was totally worth it. I also found it quite amusing that when the clerk handed me my new (at the time) iBook, he said, "I am now officially jealous of you."

Unfortunately, my experience abroad wasn't as fun as I'd hoped it would be, but having the iBook with me was quite nice.

I personally really appreciate Apple's hardware, though the main reason I prefer using a Mac is definitely because of the OS. OS X is truly a rewarding experience to use. I still need to use WinXP, though when I do, it always feels like a crippled OS in comparison to to 10.4.6.

We've had the original imac since it came out almost 8 years ago and it still works as fast as it did when we got it. My mom uses OS X on it now. We then got a PC, but it wasent the same story. The PC crashed countless times, but we still kept it. Eventually we threw it out and my dad bought a slgithly better one. After a few months, it was like the old PC. My dad still uses it, but me and my mom sue our old and new imac.

All we have to do is show my dad how macs can do anything PC's can and get him to get over his 'It
's a toy computer!' opinion.

does your g3 imac run faster than his pc? compare their specs hehe... 3 generations and a couple gigahertz ago... and its probably still more responsive.
