Adjusting volume on keyboard

I'm using the Apple Keyboard (the one that comes with iMac), and I do not seem to be able to adjust to volume or use the eject key, but is there an option somewhere that I don't know of to activate those key or something? because every single key works except for those four (volume down, volume up, mute, and eject). any idea? thanks

sorry guys, it was actually that problem I've been having since i got my iMac = keyboard acting weird. After unplugging and repluggin, it worked. sigh.

how long have you had your Mac? if less than a year i would call Mac and try to get a new keyboard.
