remove unwanted programs

i have downloaded two security programs (1) avg which i found out was for windows
( 2) Saphos which is for Mac's
I would like to know how to remove them, please could someone help, bearing in mind i don't have much idea as to what i'm doing. Thanks:

Slydude is online now
The AVG program wouldn't have installed unless you are running Windows on your Mac. You can safely move it to the trash and empty it.

If you haven't already installed Sophos you can also drag it to the Trash and empty the Trash. If you have installed Sophos try these directions.

if you have downloaded them but not installed just trash them

If you have installed Sophos for mac it comes with a removal tool, found in the applications folder
