    Welcome to the Mac Forums

As there are no known viruses in the wild that can infect a Mac, anti virus software is usually not necessary. There is some malware which can easily be avoided by sensible computing. If you're required to run an anti virus program because of work or school, we recommend clamXav 2.0.
