Can't boot MacBook Pro

Our MacBook pro (2007) lost juice today. We plugged it in to recharge and had to completely restart the computer. When it gets to the gray screen with the apple logo another darker gray screen comes up and tells us we need to restart our computer. Well we've done that about 50 times but doesn't go any further than that. How can we get this back up and running?
