Hi

Hope someone can help, I'm unable to add new entries to ical

Dialog box comes up stating

'You can’t add or change events in the Birthdays calendar.
Events in the Birthdays calendar come from your contacts in Address Book. To change them or add birthdays, use Address Book.'

All previous calendar entries have been deleted too!

I went to the address book to look and all my contacts (not that many - as new) have gone.

I can add contacts in the address book.

Only thing I've done recently is update Skype and install new software updates.

I'm using OS X.

Go to Calendar>Preferences>General and make sure you have a default calendar selected. If the current selection is "Selected Calendar," that can create your problem.
