I was trying to activate ExpressVPN and got an Error I went to the web site for support, there was info on what to input in terminal I did as it said and this is what I got:

Garys-MacBook-Pro:~ goavs18$ sudo chown Gary Nye ~/Library/Application/Support/ExpressVPN/
chown: Gary: Invalid argument

can anybody tell me what this means?

Im not sure if I put in my correct user name, how do I find out my user name?

Thanks
Gary

You're using the full name, not the user name. To find the user name, execute the following:
Code:
id -un
Use that value in the command above.

ok I used that and found my user name as goavs18 and I inputted the following

sudo chown goavs18 ~/Library/Application/Support/ExpressVPN/
Password:

and got this after I entered password

chown: /Users/goavs18/Library/Application/Support/ExpressVPN/: No such file or directory

I guess it isn't going to work

Thanks

Yep, that would suggest that the directory doesn't exist. Did you perhaps miss a step in the installation process?
