I have entered two groups in the Address Book. However, when I enter the groups in a new mail message the system shows me the group as I type but when I press return or tab the group goes away. So, while I have valid groups populated by valid emails, I cannot send a message to the groups.

Is there something I'm not seeing?

Thank you,
Jack

I talked to Mail Support at Apple regarding this problem. Instead of hitting the Return or Tab keys, try clicking at the end of the line. Then click on the group name and expand it to the participants. This seems to work most of the time. Another way is to add the "Show Addresses" icon to your top menu (it is a silhouette of a male head). After clicking on "Show Addresses" you can highlight your Group and then click on the TO: action. This will open an email with your group members showing.

Clicking at the end of the line is usually sufficient. I don't think I have ever had to expand the address list.

Thanks so much! Clicking at the end of the line and the Address icon both work.

Glad you got that sorted out. Kudos to jpferdner for that tip It has been a while since I used that feature so I didn't remember what the fix was until I read the post.
