deleting .dmg file

I've done a search and I'm still confused. I downloaded Office and I don't know if I'm supposed to get rid of the .dmg file in my "downloads". Does it need to go or will it be ok being there? I don't want to lose it.

Sorry, I'm not sure how to make the image bigger.

If the Office application has been successfully installed, you can store the dmg file anywhere you like. Probably best to store it on external media rather than keep it in downloads.

Legal copies of Office don't come on a DMG file.

Yes they do. You can get a digital copy of Office from MS. In fact, that's how I got it.

Likewise followed up by an email with activation code. Burnt my .dmg file to a CD.

Thank you all. It was definetely down loaded legally. At work we have a Home Use Poject and I got it at a huge discount. Also have a disc coming for back up.
