I photo

i have lost iphoto from my toolbar .the photos are still on my computer but cannot be accessed by i photo.in applications iphoto appears as a text edit

please help ,what do i need to do to get i photo back :-(

Open your Applications folder (it's on the right side of your Dock menu). Is iPhoto listed there? Or open your Finder, then click on Applications. Do you see iPhoto? If you do, drag it with your mouse and place it on the left side of your Dock menu.
