lost music and pics

my husband has lost alot of his music and pictures they dissapeared the titles of songs are still there so im thinking they still somewhere on mac but where can anyone help

Welcome to the Mac Forums

We're going to need some more information in order to try to assist. Tell us about his computer: Year, model, and which version of OS X it's running. Also tell us what he did recently that possibly could have caused the problem.

Usually, when photos and or music is missing, it's because someone attempted to either move or change locations for the files but did not do it right. iPhoto and iTunes will manage things nicely and keep them in one place.
