Hello Guys, I am currently facing a unique problem with my McBook Air. It just refuses to shut down, each time I try to shut down or power off, I get a box which reads

'The application Safari cancelled shut down, To try again, quit Safari and choose Apple menu > Shutdown'

And the cracker is that Safari refuses to open as a window, when I click to open Safari, it just kind of makes an abrupt sound and remains hung.

Any advise on how do I resolve this...

Thanks, but I'm at my wits end, Its past midnight in India and I cant fall asleep until I resolve this....

Cheers!

For now, click on the apple at the upper left corner, click on "Force Quit". Select Safari and click on the Force Quit button.

That will kill Safari, and you should be able to shut down.

Does Safari show as an option to close if you do a force quit?

I've always wanted to be smart, handsome and modest. But, I guess I'll have to be satisfied with two out of three . . .
