Just want to say hello, i am oh so a newbie, and need some help please. Want to buy a Mac for my son's 21st. He has been into Music production for a few years, I am a total novice and want to know what would be best to start with. Do not want to go top end at this stage however. Would be grateful for all, any help.

i think the first thing we need to work out is your budget. how much do you plan on spending on this mac?

ok. well i would recommend the basic 21.5 inch iMac. but thats probably just because i own one haha. i produce music at a semi professional level on my iMac using Logic. of course it also depends on weather u are looking for a desktop of a laptop?

Hi, ideally he would prefer the laptop for ease of use and also for taking away from home. But what you have advised sounds good. Thanks.
