Unable to access software updates and iTunes store

I am unable to access software updates and access iTunes store. I get a message check network connections or not connected to internet. However my internet connection is working well.
The problem started after I downloaded iPad 2 update patch. After downloading I was unable to update my iPad
I do not know what to do. Please help

- 27" iMac i7 (2011) 10.11, Mac Mini i5 (2014), iPhone6s, Apple Watch, iPad Air 2, New AppleTV (4?)
1. Restart you router (power off and on again).
2. Restart your Mac
3. Update to the latest version of iTunes.
4. Try again.
5. Post back with results.Not been around these parts for a while. Trying to change that . .
