I live in Japan and my local discount store is selling a 2008 MacBook for ~$600 USD. I have several questions...
(1) Will I be able to install software that I purchase in the U.S.? (2) Could I set the system language to English? (3) Overall, would it be compatible in the U.S. or is the programming different? Thanks so much for your help! I appreciate it. I'm pretty undecided at the moment. PS: The laptop looks fine and has decent specs, but I fully understand the risk of buying a used computer. |

I know prices in Japan are somewhat inflated from the US, however, $600 for a 2008 MacBook is too high.
And yes, you can set the MacBook to do English only but it means a reinstall of the operating system. After English is setup as the language on the MacBook it will be just like any other MacBook purchased here in the US. |
