I am trying to help a friend out with his Mac and i have a PC the question is do Mac's have system restore?

Mac Specs: iMac i5 2.7GHz, 16GB memory, OS X.10

Boot from his install disk by holding down 'C' immediately after the chime with the DVD in, go top Utilities and run Repair Disk and see what is reported.

Hang on to those original install discs like grim death! Using OS X.7 or later make a bootable USB thumb drive before running Installer!

Be advised that doing what harryb2448 suggests takes a loooooong time to boot, so be patient.
