Mac Specs: 1.2gHz g4, 12 inch, 60 gig, 768RAM, bluetooth, ATI radeon 9200, macally bluetooth mouse, JBL speaker

this has to be the stupidist question asked. but for some reason, i can't "cut" something on my mac. like i want to move files from the desktop to my documents. on my pc i would use x to cut, then v to paste. why can't i cut in mac?n
