I have created a PDF file using a Windows 2000 PC, it uses the font Verdana.

But when I send this PDF to an Apple Mac computer and open it there, all the letters on the PDF and now changed into little square boxes and I can't read the file.

I'm using Acrobat Reader on the Apple Mac.

have you tried to open it in preview ? ... if that fails, maybe you just need to install the font.

It's not my Apple Mac i'm sending it to, the person doesn't know a thing about computers and they live at the other end of the country.

I tried sending the same thing in Word and the Boxes still appeared, I also tried changing the font to Courier, Times, Arial, basically all the fonts on my list, all with the same results.

how are you sending the PDF? it sounds like its corrupting. All the fonts you mentioned are default fonts in all office/os packages

Apple, think different

OK, what program are you using to create the PDF? It sounds like the problem lies there, and not in how it is read on another machine.

Since you are having trouble with creating the PDF on the Windows machine...have you tried creating the PDF using the Mac instead?
