Running Skype fine here. When you try to launch it, do you get any sort of error message?

Forget my query, I redownloaded Skype, installed it and all's working fine.
This Lion OS will take a while for me to get used to.Especially the scrolling.

If you're referring to the new scrolling direction, you can disable it in System Preferences > Trackpad (I assume this is in Mouse if you don't have a trackpad) > uncheck "When using gestures to scroll or navigate, move content in the direction of finger movement."
