which apple care do i get

i want to buy applecare for my Imac before the 1 yr warranty runs out, but there are different versions available.my Imac was purchased on 08/24/11. do i buy the newest version of applecare or the older version

I think you meant your iMac was purchased 08/24/10 not /11. Anyway you can purchase Apple Care for your iMac from the LA Computer Co. for $120.00 (a savings of $49.00).

Has anyone bought from that company? Is that a legit Apple Care product? I didn't think anyone discounted the Apple products. If it is legit that's a heck of a deal. Does anyone have any experience with these guys and is it truly a legit Apple Care License? (Or whatever you call it.)

If you do a forum search you will find that Apple Care (and where to buy it) is a frequent question. Bottomline answer: LA Computer and Amazon (when purchased directly from Amazon) are safe sources of discounted Apple Care.

EDIT: I have purchased five different Apple Care packages from Amazon with no problems or complaints. Others on this site swear by LA Computer FWIW
