When you say "scan a pic of a document" what exactly do you mean? Are you using a scanner to scan a document, or ... ??

Sorry I couldn't be more help.
iPhoto itself doesn't work with scanners, but Image Capture (another program that came with your Mac) does, and passes the results directly on to iPhoto if you want. |

Yeppers.That bar that sits there all the time at the top of the screen is the Menu bar. The one at the bottom (unless you moved it) with all the icons on it, that's called the Dock. At least now you know several ways to import your pics.
