just got an ibook about a week ago. i want to use the p2p program nicotine. says i need x11. does x11 come with tiger?

I think it should be on the install disks:

Check for custom software installation options on the tiger disk and select the X11 checkbox to install it.

It might be easier to just download it for free from apple's page though...

Which Mac did you get? If it's new it must have Tiger 10.4 OS on it. Follow these instructions and openoffice will then launch.

Ok as far as the X11 install, put in your Main Gray Install DVD that came with your Mac. When it opens a window, Scroll down untill you fine the Optional Installs package. Click it and when it comes up, agree to everything and tell it the drive to install to then it will give you a selection menu, click and expand applications and just check X11. That should install he proper version of X11 and Open Office should then work. If not let me know.

Thanks dude, it worked. However it opens directly into the word processor and there doesn't seem to be a pane that allows you to choose between the different applications. Any ideas?
