I would like to change form "cover view" to "list view" when viewing my bookmarks, but don't see anything in "preferences" that will let me do that. Can anyone help?
Thanks.

Other than creating a new folder and listing your bookmarks there, you may want to use one these Bookmark extensions to Safari. Not sure if any of them will do what you want, but give them a look anyway. LINK

??? Not sure I understand what you're referring to.

When I click on Bookmarks in the menu, mine are and always have been in a list (or in the Bookmarks Bar if you're using that - any folder there still opens in a list). Never seen any other view.

Are you referring to the 'Top Sites' page you get when you open a new tab? This one is in page view. There is no option to have this page in list view.

I cannot be held responsible for the things that come out of my mouth.

I think the "cover view" the OP is referring to is Top Sites.

To all who have replied,
When I click on "bookmarks", then "show all bookmarks", they open up in "page" view.

Ok, maybe. But, your last post confuses me. Answering this one:
There's a small "handle" at the bottom of "cover view" as you call it (same thing as "page view"?). Click that handle with the "hand grip" cursor and drag it up. The "shade" effect will stop as you continue to move the mouse upward. Don't be deterred, keep moving it up and the top section will turn into a small bar at the top. That's the best you can do.

Does that address your question?

Yep. And that shortcut is really only designed for organizing your bookmarks.

That effectively removes the coverflow view and leaves you only a search field at the top with list view below.

Thank you toMACsch,

That's what I've been wanting to do. It's just easier for me to look down a list than to scroll through a bunch of icons.

Bob, which way is supposed to be just for organizing your bookmarks?

Either way I thank you both for your help. I'm migrating well (in my opinion) from windows, and just need some help with things like these.

Thanks again.
