Can someone tell me how to safely get rid of the HD icon my son in law placed on my desk top?

The reference to Finder is the Finder menu. So, Finder Menu > Preferences...

Once again you guys shine through. I am still in "Dummy Class" but I'm learning little by little.

A while back I asked how to make my fonts larger in my mail and Safari. I found out how to do it on the open screen, but I'd still like to know how to make it stay larger without clicking on the zoom every time I open a window.

Download the free Tinker Tool. Read the FAQ first and don't mess with the hidden files option.
