Look at your account settings in facebook and get the username. Usually first.last.

In iChat set up a new Jabber account and put user.name@chat.facebook.com. Then your FB password. Click on Server options and put in chat.facebook.com for the server and 5222 for the port. Just worked for me. Be sure you get the exact username from Facebook settings for your account. There is a period between the first and last name.

Along with this there is also the option of Facechat for the menubar.

Download FaceChat for Mac - Facebook chat from the menu bar. MacUpdate.com
