Is there some way that in the finder column mode you can highlight a folder, then in the next column see the folder contents (lets say mixed 15 files), and in the next column see date info and size? I know you can click on each individual file, but I would like to see all files in a folder with details... similar to my UGH! PC LOL!

Well you can put it in "List" view. Open a finder folder then click View > As List or "cmd+2".
Hope it helps.
