I recently posted asking about an app that would show itunes title/artist in the menu bar ... a user recommended iTunesMenu ... and it is awesome, its tiny, uses almost no system resources, functions perfectly, and is completely free!

I figured I would ask if there are any menu bar apps that ya'll use that you would recommend that meet all of these critera
1.) small: doesn't tie up hardly any system resources
2.) functions properly: is not buggy, does not lag / crash
3.) free: not share ware, not something that is going to harass me about donating to the starving developer

Thanks

My first apple product is this White 2.4 Mac Book I bought on September 25, 2008!

iStat Menus was free, now it's shareware.
However, you can still get the old free version here. Just don't let it update itself!

Yep - Wouldn't it be great if Apple started to give away ipads, macbooks and imacs away for nothing!

Personally the fewer things I have up in the menu bar the better. I like to get rid of as many as I can, I just hate the clutter.

I agree. In the past, I lived it up a little and used a weather menu bar app and Gmail notifier app, but that's about it. Menu bar apps can be distracting.
