    email reply deletable block
I received a reply to an email I sent. When I hit reply, in the reply window the entire text was enclosed in a block, with an 'x' in the top left corner. When I click on the x, the entire text is deleted.

How did this happen and what is the purpose of this enclosure?

I can't say I've run into this before, but it sounds like maybe something that was embedded in that email specifically? Was it an email from an individual or an email from a company?

to make a screenshot hit command+shift+3

it will put the image on your desktop.

go to ImageShack® - Online Photo and Video Hosting and upload it, then give us the link to the image

GO to ImageShack® - Online Photo and Video Hosting click upload, select your desktop folder>image then hit upload.

Once it's finished, it will give you a few different links to the image. Select the one for a direct link to the image, copy it, and paste it here.

    can you open this png?
    http://img843.imageshack.us/img843/5...eenshottwb.png

Above is the png file. I add that this block with the x in the upper left only happens with emails from a guy with an older iMac, so his email preferences are probably wrong.

Well I mean it's not really 'wrong', just different. I don't see any problem with it though..just ignore it.

Although I haven't had older mac computers so maybe a member with much more mac experience than myself can help you with a more definitive answer if you so need to.

    cannot reply to quoted portions
The problem is that I cannot reply to individual portions of the message, while deleting other portions. If I click the x, the whole message is deleted.
