I accidentally put some of the stock pictures from the all images section of the finders menu in the trash. I took them out before I emptied it but now they are on my desktop and I can't put them back in the all images section. How do I put the pictures back? or do I even need to?

None of us have any idea. We have no clue what pictures they are, nor where it is they were located.
That All images is a search function, not a folder. It shows you every picture/image on your computer including every icon and thumbnail located inside every app you have installed on the machine. Any thing you decide not to trash after putting it in the trash bin - you need to open trash, right click on the item(s) and select 'Put back'. Without any clue of what you've done, it may be time to reinstall the OS - after you back up your data of course. I cannot be held responsible for the things that come out of my mouth. In the Windows world, most everything folks don't understand is called a virus. Place your vote for our Member of the Month |

Anyway if you click on the All Images icon again it should also show the images you moved from the trash that is on your desktop. No matter where you put the images is should still show up in the All Images function because it searches your whole computer. You can put the images anywhere you want but we don't know where they were originally from. As mentioned by bobtomay the Put Back feature will put your files exactly back where they came from before they went to the trash. Unless you have a Time Machine backup, I can't think of another way to find out where your images were originally. Although it's really up you if you really want the images to be in their same original folder. I prefer to create my own sub-folder in the Documents folder so I know where I have placed my images. IMO if you created sub-folders in your Documents folder then it's real easy to stay organized and know where everything is because almost everything will be in your Documents folder. |

Here is a tip for new users: When you click on the All Images and see all your photos, all you have to do is select one of the photos and at the bottom it will show you where the photo is actually placed. |
