My PB not reading my External HD

I dont know why my PB isnt reading my external HD... it used to read it just fine before.. but now it wont show me that yellow disk icon on my desktop when I plug in the HD... I am doing it through a USB port... any idea why its not reading it?

There is another thread here with the same issue. It appeared to be a power problem. So assuming that you are using a powered hard disk and your USB cable is not bad. Can you see the disk in the disk utility application window?
