Hello Forum

I am a new owner of a MacBook Pro, my first experience on a Mac, although I am an happy owner of an iPhone since 2 years.

I might look a bit lazy, but I don't know how to "sort by name" the Bookmarks in Safari, neither the files in Finder. I have searched the help and this forum as well, but no solution.

Can you help me?

Thanks!

Finder is easy: Click on the top menu "View". Click on "Arrange By" -> Name.

As for Safari, unless there's some third party app or plug in | extension that can arrange the bookmarks by name, you'll have to do it manually. I usually just click on "Bookmarks" (top menu) and click on "Show all Bookmarks". From here you can arrange each bookmark by name or any other way you wish.

And that will show you the keyboard shortcut for the command. (^ is for the Control key)

There's an inexpensive program called BookDog/BookMacster (slightly different versions) that will alphebetize your bookmarks and keep them alphabetized, along with some other functions. Check it out.

First of all thanks you all, and sorry for my mistake about Finder, I knew about "view-"arrange by" name.

Sincerely I am a bit disappointed that you cannot really organize your bookmarks by name of whatever else, but notwithstanding this I am still happy to be a new owner of MacBook Pro.

I will check the program suggested by chas_m and will let you know.

Cheers
