How do I change how my name as sender appears in e-mail?

For reasons I won't go into here I want to edit the way my name appears in e-mails.

It seems that I can't edit this in the usual way as it takes it from the basic iMac setup.

Is there a way round this?

Assuming you're using Apple Mail, click the Mail menu and click Preferences, click the Accounts tab. Select the account you want to change in the left pane. Then, simply edit the "Full Name" field to reflect how you want the name to appear.

Liquid and computers don't mix. It might seem simple, but we see an incredible amount of people post here about spills. Keep drinks and other liquids away from your expensive electronics!

Thanks I had already done that but when I looked at my address book I found an entry with my pic and iMac name. When I sent an e-mail it was defaulting to that. I've now removed that entry from the address book and its now appearing as i want it.
