    Specs:
2015 rMBP, 2008 iMac, iPhone 6, iPad mini, 13" MBP, AppleTV and two MacMinis
When the print dialog opens, what options are presented? I don't have Epson, but on my HP, I get options for "best" printing (more ink) or something like "fast" which is less ink. The fast option is quicker to print, but slightly less vivid. The slowest is "photo" which also uses the most ink and which I only use for photo printing. It's also the most color intense.

    Specs:
    Mac Mini (Late 2014) 2.6GHz Intel Core i5 Memory: 8GB 1600MHz DDR3
Also could mean it needs to be cleaned. My Epson740 has built-in utilities to clean the print heads. Look in your manual.
