iTunes - remove deleted songs

I have recently done a huge backup and decided to get rid of some of my music off the HD. However, iTunes is still showing it in the library. Is there a way of deleting the songs iTunes cannot find and leaving the rest of my library intact?

I did think of deleting everything and then re-importing, but I have particular songs checked that will go on my ipod (some i dont want on there due to space).

Is there another, easier way?
