I'm relatively new to Macs so I don't know what program will work to open rar files. I just downloaded a rar the other day and found to my dismay that the Mac OS doesn't know what program will open it. Can anyone suggest a free download?

I use UnRarX, though Stuffit will do the job just fine.

The Unarchiver is my favorite. Small, simple, and mostly transparent to the user.

Liquid and computers don't mix. It might seem simple, but we see an incredible amount of people post here about spills. Keep drinks and other liquids away from your expensive electronics!

UnrarX if it's encrypted, Unarchiver if not here.
I find Unarchiver struggles with password protected files, even given the correct password.
