My network connection is fine but for the past coupe of month's whenever I turn on my Macbook, it connects to the FREE wi-fi offered by my City. I go into the network preferences and choose my secure network and click on the lock but when I turn on my Macbook next time, it chooses the FREE wi-fi again. How can I get my Macbook to stay locked on my network connection???

Go into System Preferences, then Network. Click on Airport, then click on Advanced. Drag your preferred network to the top of the list and click OK.
