this week. sometime. i will be getting my first ever macbook :-D
i have never, EVER backed up any computer and im quite a noob at it. so if anyone wants to tell me what i need, how to do it, in very simple laymens terms thanks :-) perhaps even tell me what external harddrive i can get, for [hopefully] under 100$ thank you guys :-D aye bay bay |

You'll just need an external hard disk. The larger the better, but you should be able to get a decent sized one for less than $100 (I would guess around 320-500GB depending on where you shop).
Then, plug it into your Mac, turn on Time Machine and you're good to go. Time Machine does the rest. Liquid and computers don't mix. It might seem simple, but we see an incredible amount of people post here about spills. Keep drinks and other liquids away from your expensive electronics! |

It's a hard drive, like the one inside your computer, except that it's in a little box that connects to your computer via USB (you can also get a Firewire version for speedier backups).
