Ever since I bought my pb last year, ive tried converting everyone that I know into a mac buyer. Most of them brush it off, but for the few that actually do go out and buy a mac, i kiinda get scared because they might not like it. My father in law is about to switch his small retail business into a computer based one, and Ive been pushing him to get an IMAC with POS software. Do you think that is a good idea? Im worried that he is going to invest in a 1200 machine and 1000 software only to get disapointed.. im worried they might not love macs as much as i do

Eh...I don't try to convince anyone to use a specific computer or OS. I just tell them to use the best computer for their needs. Whatever handles their specific need best it the one they should use. If I think that computer is a Mac, I tell them. But I won't try to convince anyone to get something because its what I use.

i mean like when someone asks what kind of a comp i have and I say mac, and then they say "why do you use a piece of junk like that" then i go into switch mode and tell them how much better mine is than theirs

Maybe I'm just not as sensitive about it...I could care less what someone else thinks about the kind of computer I use..:black:

Still, maybe the Mac isn't good for what those people are using their computers for. There is no need to pressure your opnions or preferences on others..that's all. :black:

I've convinced three others to get Macs. These are engineers that use a variety of Operating Systems. These guys spent collectively about $13,000 for their systems and they are all very happy. One of the guys will eventually replace the rest of their systems with Macs.

So long as you're honest/fair, why would you? You can state your opinion, but the final decision is still theirs.

menace3054, as far as using an iMac as a POS...why not save $500 and use an eMac instead? POS terminals don't need a G5.

Well said!

Mac's are very good computers, but so are certain PC's. They both have their strength and weaknesses. It depends on what you or they are using them for.

From a G4 400MHz to an Intel Mac Mini to iMac Core Duo to a Macbook Pro 2.6GHz.............gotta love Apple!
