Memory (RAM sticks) != Storage (Hard drive)...

You are confusing the terms..Memory is what you upgrade with sticks and it is used by the Mac to temporarily store information while the computer is running. Your HD is used for long term storage (like where Mac is installed and your documents are stored)..

So long story short..upgrading Memory will just give you more memory to load more applications and so on..and not impact your document/files/music...

Regards
