    upgrade ram
    I currently own a macbook pro and I want to upgrade the ram will it take memory away

    I think the answer to your question is "No." RAM is volatile memory, which means that everything it "remembers" evaporates, "poof!," every time you turn off your machine. That's why it's critical to "Save" work to disk before quitting your application or session. The "memory" you're undoubtedly thinking about is the data stored on your hard drive, and it will still be there after you upgrade the RAM.

    Have a look here it will tell what u can add to your model MBP. The handbook that came with your MBP will tell how to do it. Just be careful of Static Electricity.
