I am a new Mac user and I am still learning my way around this system. I switched last week and have used windows for the last 6 years..

On my mac I cant listen to Windows Media Player files ... and when I tried loading WMP on my mac it loaded a .sitx file and my computer couldnt recognize it... but i downloaded the mac version so I am not sure why it did that. Please help me, what program plays WMP files online? also is there a WMP 10.0 available for a mac?

.sitx files require a program called stuffit expander to be opened. The program is free and can be downloaded at:

A SIT and SITX are Mac files. With Tiger they took out Stuffit Expander in favor of the built in Zip. Most newer OSX downloads are DMG or Zip now. DMG has been around since the beginning of OSX I think. I am not sure why they are not including Stuffit anymore, but you can download it and run it and it will install.

Then you can unstuff the Windows Media Player and run it.

If, for some reason, you don't like the official Windows Media Player, there are other apps that can play or convert WMA on the Mac.
