Connect MacBook to TV?

Does anyone know what I'd need to be able to see what's on my macbook on my TV? I searched apple and my computer but did not find anything.

Not unless you provide:

MacBook model
Make & model of your TV
Do you want the sound also on the TV or on a separate stereo/surround receiver?

I did. I probably would have found it if only I'd searched for "video adapter".
