Every so often I get a pop up of some of the icons in my dock in an enlarged version-these are bothersome, how can I eliminate them forever? Thanks for any suggestions. Van

Are you referring to the magnification of icons in the Dock that occurs when you move the mouse pointer over them? If so, you can choose  > Dock > Turn Magnification Off from the menu bar.
