    Can anyone recommend a good program that handles humanities bibliographies for academic work?

    Well, I guess all I need is to be able to enter a bibliography, and then use search functions and sort functions later.

    Any good Office suite with a good word processor can do what you want. Try the free Open Office suite offered by Sun here.

    Pretty well any of the standard reference managers will do what you want: EndNote, Reference Manager, etc.... at a price. You could try working things out with Academic software for research papers | Mendeley or Zotero | Home
